Lung Cancer Screening to Treatment 2.0: Turning Knowledge Into Action
Real progress in health outcomes doesn’t happen by chance—it comes from sustained effort, trusted partnerships, and a willingness to meet people where they are. That’s exactly what’s driving the expansion of Lung Cancer Screening to Treatment 2.0, a growing, nationwide initiative focused on education, access, and action.
This next phase builds on the strong foundation of last year’s program, which brought together over 1,200 community members, healthcare professionals, and advocates for meaningful conversations around lung cancer prevention, screening, and care. The response made one thing clear: people are ready for more than awareness—they want tools, guidance, and direct pathways to better health.
That’s what 2.0 is designed to deliver.
Moving Beyond Awareness
Lung cancer continues to be one of the most complex and often misunderstood diseases. Barriers to screening, gaps in access to care, and persistent stigma all contribute to delayed diagnoses and poorer outcomes. Addressing these challenges requires more than information—it requires engagement, trust, and practical support.
Lung Cancer Screening to Treatment 2.0 is built to meet that need. This expanded series brings dynamic speakers, clinical experts, patient advocates, and community leaders together in interactive, workshop-style settings. The goal is simple in concept, ambitious in scope: equip individuals with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to take action—whether that means getting screened, supporting a loved one, or navigating treatment decisions.
Participants can expect conversations that are honest, relevant, and grounded in real-world experience—paired with opportunities to engage directly with experts, ask questions, and connect to care.
Expanding Access, Including Policy Awareness
Access to care is shaped not only by clinical advances but also by the policies that can support patients and communities. As part of this series, we will highlight the role of Programs like the 340B Drug Pricing Program, which help eligible safety-net providers stretch limited resources to deliver medications and comprehensive services—which is why your local hospital may be able to offer cancer care you otherwise couldn’t afford.
By incorporating policy education alongside clinical and community-based discussions, we aim to provide a more complete picture of how patients can access affordable care and how systems can better support improved outcomes.
A Nationwide Effort
We are proud to take this work to communities across the country in 2026. The series will travel to:
- St.Louis, MO (Kickoff – June 27, 2026)
- Birmingham, AL (July 18, 2026)
- Philadelphia, PA (July 25, 2026)
- New York, New York (TBA)
- Houston, TX (TBA)
Each stop will reflect the unique needs and strengths of the local community, supported by partnerships with healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and trusted leaders on the ground.
Kicking Off in St. Louis
On June 27, we look forward to launching this year’s series in St. Louis, returning after a successful and impactful program last year. The momentum from that event underscored the importance of continuing this work—and going deeper.
The St. Louis program will set the tone for what’s ahead: engaging workshops, expert-led discussions, and a clear focus on turning knowledge into action. From screening and early detection to treatment advances in AI, self-advocacy, and policy awareness—including the impact of the 340B Drug Pricing Program—the experience is designed to leave participants informed, empowered, and connected.
Putting in the Work
Improving health outcomes requires more than intention; it requires consistency, collaboration, and a commitment to showing up in communities across the country. This series is part of that effort.
We’re bringing together voices that reflect both expertise and lived experience. We’re creating space for real conversations about risk, prevention, stigma, access to care, and the policies that shape it. And we’re making sure participants leave with more than information; they leave with next steps.
Because better outcomes are built, not hoped for.
