It is an interactive community conversation designed to help you better understand your health and what you can do next. We encourage you to ask questions\, share your experiences\, speak directly with our presenters\, and bring a family member or caregiver into the conversation. \nThe goal is to move from information to action—helping attendees turn what they learn into conversations\, decisions\, and better health outcomes for themselves and their families. \nWho Should Attend\nOur priority is reaching adults who may be at increased risk for lung cancer and cardiovascular disease\, but this conversation extends well beyond those who are currently at risk. That’s why this conversation is for everyone. \nIf you have lungs\, you can get lung cancer. \nWhether you’re concerned about your own health\, supporting someone you love\, living with a diagnosis\, caring for a patient\, or simply want to become a stronger advocate for yourself and your family\, this program is for you. \nLung cancer doesn’t affect just one person—it affects families\, caregivers\, friends\, coworkers\, and entire communities. A family member may suddenly become a caregiver. A friend may help someone navigate appointments. A loved one may need help understanding treatment options. And community members can become powerful advocates for better health. \nWe especially encourage current and former smokers\, adults 50 and older\, lung cancer patients and survivors\, caregivers and family members\, and anyone interested in learning more about prevention\, early detection\, treatment\, and better heart and lung health. \nLung cancer screening with a Low-Dose CT (LDCT) scan is recommended for certain adults ages 50–80 with a smoking history of a pack per day or greater\, who currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 years. Talk with a healthcare professional to determine whether screening is appropriate for you.\nEvent Details\nSaturday\, October 24\, 2026\n9:30 AM – 12:30 PM\nDoors Open & Check-In: 9:30 AM \nHouston Food Bank – Community Room BC\n535 Portwall Street\nHouston\, TX 77029 \nHosted by HEAL Collaborative \nFREE | Breakfast and Lunch Provided \nCome with your questions.
